Freight Right started in 2007 out of a 2-bedroom Los Angeles apartment. Robert Khachatryan, Freight Right's founder and CEO, was so convinced that there was a better way of freight forwarding that he made the leap and started the company in the 2007-08 economic crisis, armed with nothing more than a borrowed credit card, a young immigrant’s drive, and an ambitious goal of building a world-class logistics company.

Freight Right does not ship personal effect. Personal effect is any person's personal property, usually items of particular significance that are carried, worn or include an individual's clothing, and furniture. Additionally, anything that is considered personal property or private property and is movable Freight Right will not service. Personal effect can also be considered is any freight that does not include a commercial invoice. Household goods and personal clothing are among the most common personal effect. Below is a list of common items but not exhaustive list of personal effect Freight Right does not ship.
