International Freight Quote Specialist

 

Job Description

Candidate will work with our global network of agents, re-sellers and customers to provide timely and accurate international freight quotes. This candidate will be the primary contact for our freight providers on day-to-day communication. He/She will negotiate with carriers and agents. Compile rates to increase door to door coverage in given origin/destination pairs. Work with re-seller partners to provide tariff rates. Work on special projects like landed cost calculations for specific products, OOG and project quotes, etc.

 

Skills Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of international transportation processes, including export and import related charges for air freight, ocean (LCL and FCL) as well as project cargo.
  • Knowledge of international customs and forwarding regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry documentation/communications.
  • Ability to read and understand international tariffs
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from customers and partners.

 

Experience Required

Prior Industry (NVOCC/Freight Forwarding)

2-5 years Sales Experience

 

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • Detailed knowledge of geography
  • Driver’s License
  • Proximity to work

 

Skills and Experience Preferred (Not Required)

  • Knowledge of CargoWise software

  • Design and develop a status notifications system based on various trigger points in the logistics process as well as integrate the notification system with third party platforms.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Accounts Payable / Credit & Collections Manager

 

Job Description

  • Monitor, manage, and collect Accounts Receivable balances (including communication with customers and agents through phone calls, e-mails, online portals, etc. to ensure timely collection of outstanding A/R balances/invoices).
  • Participates in weekly Collections status meetings with CEO and Head of Finance to report on progress on the above
  • Monitor aging payables, identify payables ready for payment, prepare listing of invoices to be paid weekly
  • Assist with other month-end account reconciliations, analyses, or journal entries.
  • Review and code financial information for input into financial data system.
  • Manage Cash Application cycle; Deposit checks and apply receipts to outstanding receivables.
  • Monitor and maintain e-mail communication in a timely manner, with both internal and external contacts.
  • Inventory office supplies and equipment; prepares and submits orders for purchase.
  • Process credit applications received from potential customers and submit to Controller for final review and approval
  • Assist employees, vendors, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, services, invoice status, etc.
  • Ability to work with foreign currency denominated transactions. Must be comfortable working with exchange rate conversions.
  • Design, prepare, and maintain Excel spreadsheets using basic mathematical calculations.

  • Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.

  • Responsible for AP and AR, Inputting invoices to payable system, writing checks and posting to customer accounts
