Job Description

Candidate will handle shipments from origin to the customer’s door including documentation, customs brokerage and inland transport, etc.

 

Job Requirements

-2-5 years of import operations experience is required

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must

-Comfortable with, Google Apps for business and other programs.

-Strong organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.

-Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, internal staff, and external parties.

-Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving

-Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently

-U.S. work authorization

 

Preferred but not required

Experience in freight forwarding operations

Knowledge of trade terms

Familiarity with import procedures and regulations

Familiarity with domestic transportation

Job Description:

  • Perform routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports
  • Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions
  • Responsible for AP and AR, Inputting invoices to payable system, writing checks and posting to customer accounts
  • Prepare accurate and timely month, quarter, and year end close.
  • Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in forecasting & budgeting process
  • Contact vendors to request invoice copies and verify balances when necessary
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accounts
  • Code and post payable invoices
  • Responsible for maintaining record keeping and file maintenance
  • Research and resolve discrepancies on vendor statements
  • Produce weekly and monthly check runs
  • Act as point of contact for AP/AR customer inquiries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • At least 2-3 Year Experience with Corporate Finance
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Candidate will work with our global network of agents, re-sellers and customers to provide timely and accurate international freight quotes. This candidate will be the primary contact for our freight providers on day-to-day communication. He/She will negotiate with carriers and agents. Compile rates to increase door to door coverage in given origin/destination pairs. Work with re-seller partners to provide tariff rates. Work on special projects like landed cost calculations for specific products, OOG and project quotes, etc.

 

Skills Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of international transportation processes, including export and import related charges for air freight, ocean (LCL and FCL) as well as project cargo.
  • Knowledge of international customs and forwarding regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry documentation/communications.

Position:  Import Manager

Job Description

  • Oversee all Import documentation activities, including issuance of arrival notices and pre-alerts, AMS and ISF support
  • Coordinating Customs clearance and cargo releases, processing OBLs and ocean freight for master and house bills of lading, delivery to final destination, timely processing of invoices, interface with Accounting Dept. to clear open AP and AR transactions, data entry troubleshooting and support.
  • Oversee the Import customer service team activities, including effective support of all staff members in solving problems, tracking and tracing shipments; setting up and/or updating new customer profiles; coordination with Sales Team and overseas offices to ensure consistent maintenance of high quality customer interaction.
